What is radiant heat? No need to worry - Radiant heat is also called infrared energy (IR). It is NOT the same as ultraviolet radiation
(known as UV which burns and damages your skin), or atomic radiation.
Radiant heat is simply a form of energy that heats objects directly through a process called conversion, without having to heat the air between. Infrared is completely safe, and chances are you will have experienced it long before reading this article. Examples of many different applications are heat lamps, electric ovens, space heaters, electric bed under-blankets, hair dryers, water distillers, winter clothing, therapeutic wraps, floor heaters, etc. Infrared can be produced by heaters made of ceramic, quartz, halogen tubes, carbon fibers, and various types of elements, filaments and metals.
